R.I.P. Steve Irwin

Today Steve "crocodile hunter" Irwin has sadly passed away after getting stung by a stingray in the chest. Most people know Irwin as the guy that ran up to just about every animal no matter how dangerous shouting "crickey" and "look at that beauty" People who managed to look beyond that saw a person with an undying love for the animal kingdom and did everything in his power to educate people and preserve the wildlife.
He will be missed by me. Rest in peace Steve, may your dreams come true of animal preservation and may they keep your zoo in your vision!

Steve leaves behind his wife, a daughter of 8 and a 3 year old son

i couldn't believe it, R.I.P.

they say that what happend to him has never been heard of before, and that it is extremely rare that anyone gets killed by a stingray.

R.I.P

I would say it was the way he would of liked to go as he died doing what he loved doing. He was such a great guy.

It certainly is ironic..... all those dangerous creatures he has dealt with over the years and he's killed by a timid stingray.  The sting actually pierced his heart and that's what caused the fatality (bit like an arrow) otherwise the actual sting probably wouldn't have killed him.

He will be sadly missed as an entertaining and passionate conservationalist.

He died doing what he loved.

RIP

just a little factoid. He's only the second person in 60 years to be killed by a stingray in Australia...but you tempt fait THAT many times and eventually it catches up with you
